OUT and ABOUT in WHISTLER

Day three in Whistler and I've spent quite a bit of time just cruising around getting to know the 'lay of the land.' I've been here several times before, but never with a view to driving guests around, so I'm paying more attention now to where everything is!

We went for dinner to a pizza place the other night, and got to sit right next to the oven .... it was huge!

Whistler is so gorgeous, even though it's been raining (and melting the current snow), and what snow is on the ground is 'dirty' looking -- but Hailey assures me it'll snow (and snow and snow) before the Games, so it'll all look pretty and white.

What they're calling the 'Look of the Games' is appearing everywhere...

Construction of the 'Celebration Plaza' (where the Whistler-based events medals will be handed out) is not complete, and they are working feverishly on that ...

Hailey says these little 'pods' of 'beezlebubs' (her word!) have been appearing all over town in the past few weeks...

I reminded her that those folks are among the thousands of volunteers who make the Games possible, and that I'm one of them, and I'll look just like that, starting tomorrow, which is my first shift. (I still haven't got her to take that pic of me in my uniform, maybe tomorrow morning!)

Life in the Village looks like it always does, Olympics or not ...

But at night it is absolutely magical here...

I'll post again after my first shift!
